AGRICOMPET PROJECT Governing the Agri-Food Supply Chain

Co-opAbility participates in the AGRICOMPET research program, which commenced on September 1st, 2021, and is slated to conclude in August 2024, and it is funded by the EU PRIMA-HORIZON program. AGRICOMPET aims to co-design sustainable organizational solutions, management, and governance methods, in conjunction with producers, particularly small and medium-sized farms and livestock farms, their cooperatives and producer groups, as well as other participants in Mediterranean agri-food supply chains, to enhance their competitiveness. The envisaged solutions are based on the outcomes of high-level economic and social research, which is focused on discovering practical solutions, and conducted within the framework of AGRICOMPET

The University of Oviedo (Spain) coordinates the project, and research teams from France (INRAE), Greece (AGRERI), Italy (University of Verona and Free University of Bolzen-Bolzano), Spain (University of La Rioja), and Turkey (Bogazici University) are involved. Co-opAbility and AGRERI established the first Hub for co-design solutions in Greece as part of the project, with the participation of several cooperatives.
As part of its work, Co-opAbility organizes and manages the Greek Hub, provides experiential training to the participating firms, and coordinates the corresponding Hubs in the other countries involved. The primary objective and challenge set for the project is the effective co-design of innovative organizational solutions in response to the most pressing issues faced by collective enterprises. All interested firms will have access to the knowledge and innovations produced, which will be published and made public.
